PI (the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of a circle) is only approximately equal to 22/7, and is in fact irrational, which means it cannot be expressed exactly in the form a/b, where a and b are integers. However, 22/7 is a sufficiently good approximation most of the time.

Of any size circle, It's a ratio of the Diameter of a circle to its Circumference.
e.g. if a circle has a radius of 1cm its Diameter is 2cm. Circumference is 3.142 x 2 = 6.284cm
Ï = Circumference ÷ Diameter
From the above example = 6.284 ÷ 2 = 3.142 = Ï

The pi number is the ratio of circumference of a circle to its diameter. It has been determined that this ratio is 22/7 and no matter how large the diameter of a circle is selected the ratio of its circumference to diameter is constant at 22/7=3.14.......?

It's just the ratio of the circumference to the diameter of a
circle, regardless of how many places a computer can
write it out to

pi is = to 22 divided by 7 which is the ratio of its circumference to its diameter it is the smallest circumference to have a whole number as a diameter or vice - versa, you could say that a 1 inch diameter would have a circumference of 3.1416 etc. inches
