I ask because I was a video producer for 20 years, I got laied off and couldn't find a job in my field that paid good, so I went to work in a factory, and never made so much money before in my life. My job is now ending because of NAFTA. I hated every minute I woked there. So, I'm just wondering, would you go for something you love, or go for the money?

A job that pays well, at least I know I can make it through the month...

love over money. I have taken the money before and hated the thought of work the next day so after about 6 months of it I decided the extra cash was good but being happy was better so I went back to my old job. You spend so much time working so why spend most days of your life hating it.
At the end of the day sure you won't have as much money but at least you will be happy.

I've been doing the former for years... But I think it depends. When you have a family and need the money, then go for the money. That's why I'm not having kids...so I dont get stuck in a job I hate but can't quit. I'd probably go for the money for a while, save some up, then quit and do what I love.

Well now I have worked jobs I hated that paid lousy but I have yet to find a job that pays well that I would hate. Would be nice to work at something I enjoyed regardless the money.

I would rather have a job I love that doesn't pay well...just because I'd have alot of money w/a job that I don't like doesn't mean that I would be happy. After all Money DOESN'T buy Happiness.

I've done both and I'd rather have a job I actually like doing. Sure, if you take something that pays a lot you're well off financially, but it sucks when you dread going to work every day so you end up daydreaming about stapling your co-workers heads.

I would go for something I love doing. If i went to work and I hate that job then i would not do good and most likely get fired. If i love going to my job I would do good and get promoted.

I would go for what I loved! My husband pays the bills with a job he hates!

I LOVE every minute of my job. I am a second grade teacher.

I do not get paid a lot.

I wouldn't change what I do for more money (at least not right now).

I would choose the job i love, as long as Im not staving. Whats the point of having lots of money if you're miserable.
