I am considering not finding out with this one. Its our 3rd and last and we already have a boy and a girl so whatever the sex is is really no big deal. Altho I kind of want to know because I can buy clothes as they are on sale and I really don't like neutral clothes.

I didn't find out with my first because I liked the element of surprise too. And boy was it a surprise! With number 2 I did find out, I think with that one I wanted to know as bad as I didn't with my first. With number 3 I didn't find out. I knew it would be my last, and I already had one of each so I would be surprised either way. I also had baby clothes for both sexes so preparation was not an issue. Pregnancy last forever it seems so that extra bit to look forward to, for me anyway, made it that much more bearable. I was sooo uncomfortable in my last trimester, so not knowing what I was having made it more fun. Also, after all the labor and pain you go through during child birth, it's great being able to have that surprise in the end. I'm all for waiting if you can.

I opted not to know the sex of my child when I was pregnant.

I liked the fact of not knowing because you could get simple things at your baby shower (not just certain colors) and there are times where you find out the sex of the baby, they tell you it's a girl and you end up getting all clothing for a girl and have a boy.

You can decorate the baby's room in a unisex way and go from there.

The surprise of the sex is good and the most important part of all this, you have a very healthy baby.

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for some time now and have debated this exact same thing. I want to know. I just think it's much eaiser to prepare that way. However, my husband doesn't want to know so that after the baby is born he can go out into the lobby and say "It's a boy!" or "It's a girl!" He seems to really really want to be able to do that, so I'm leaning toward not knowing.

I had a baby girl 4 weeks ago and it was the best surprise I've ever had. I won't find out with any future kids. Its AMAZING not to know.

I'm 16 weeks, & even though it's hard I've decided not to find out. I figure since it's my first, I may as well have it be even more exciting as a surprise!

well I am waiting to conceive, but my sister has had four girls....but she waited until delivery each time. Both her and her husband wanted to be surprised. And each time he was thinking, "this could be my boy" and that didnt happen! Dont get me wrong, he loves all of his little girls, but each time they waited to be surprised...Me on the otherhand, when i finally do get pregnant (hopefully this month) I will need to know asap..I don't like surprises and I want to be able to plan for the arrival

We decided not to learn the sex of our baby. There are so few wonderful surprises in life, so we decided to wait.

I'm not pregnant yet, but my husband and i are in a continuous debate over this. i want to know, he wants to be surprised. i want to be able to buy sex-appropriate clothing for the baby, he wants neutral stuff... i guess that we'll have to come to that decision when it happens. I'd want to know.

do whatever you and your husband want to do. either way, there will be some returns....

in my town and district, we weren't allowed to find out. Radiologists and docs weren't allowed to tell you supposedly due to an incident in which a doc got sued by a mom angry her baby boy was a girl b/c she bought all boy stuff and wasted money and wanted the practise to pay.
