To begin with, I'm 17 and have had my license for half a year. I have ridden dirt bikes since I was 5, enduros since I was 13, and a 2002 Suzuki Intruder 800 for the entire 6 months, as well as a 2007 Ninja 650r for a week, amassing almost 400 miles on it. I was also the passenger on a gsx-r 750 for more than two years. Giving my experience, or lack thereof, I was wondering which motorcycle I should get; a Honda Cbr 600rr or a Kawasaki Zx-6r? The Ninja 650r felt rather slow, and within the week I outgrew it(thankfully it wasnt mine). Can anyone help me? I will use the bike mostly for day to day city driving, but my father and uncle both own Gsx-r's (a 2003 750 and a 2007 1000 respectively), and occasionally we go riding, if you know what I mean. Which bike would be better suited to my needs?

I sat on both. With my limited knowledge of the correct (using it loosely) position for riding, I like that the honda felt slimmer, and thus more comfortable at a stand. However, the Kawa offered more seat area for when I sit back in the seat, because I didnt actually get to ride either one.

I've owned both Kawis' and Hondas.
Hondas last longer, but Kawis' are a little quicker.

Personaly, I'd go with the Honda......
Which one feels beter for you????

I must keep the Gixer, Ninja rivalry going!!!!

I have had several bikes, my last two were 1984 900 Ninja and then the 2000 Ninja.

The 2000 was the year that Kaw and Susucky both broke the 200 MPH mark. After that the US made them modify and limit the engine to less than 200.

With your experience you might want to go to a 750-900 cc. But that is up to your skills.

You can increase the low-end umph to get off the line with a simple gear change, say a 18 to 16.
Sometimes I forget, but think of riding a 10speed bike and the way it felt when you changed the front and back sprockets. The same applies to these bikes.

Anyway.....I have had two Hondas, the only issues I had was simple head gascket leaks. Reliable and steady.

Only RIDER to beat me on the ZX12R was a VET on a GXR1000 on a streat a way. I alsow saw this guy doe what I called a tee-tor-totter....at 60MPH, he did a front breakstand, then lowered the rear into a front wheely, then softly back down to a front wheel stand, THREE TIMES....I was riding right beside him in awhhhhhh

I stayed ahead of my group on HWY9 out of Los Gatos. The 1000s had the power but I learned to use my RPMS a long time ago, so with the weight of the bike, balance and power, I would pull way ahead leaving corners.

BREAKS ARE VERY IMPORTANT.....I could not have stayed in front if I would have had to let up. I could wait till the last sec, and not nose dive so the breaks and forks are very important as they help you setup for the upcomming turn.

They both are super sports, pretty much hve the same power characteristics, I'd say it boils down to looks, which looks prettier to you.....or I guess baddest would be more suitable.
