Yep. When I was a kid.

Dad would yell, "HEY YOU, FRE....HARR... DAV......YOU WITH THE HEAD....YAIR YOU!........GO FEED THE CHOOKS BOY !!" and I'd scurry out the back door faster than a flying chair, and go fill a plastic beaker with grain from the shed.
The chooks (Aussie chickens) all knew the sound of me rattling the feed beaker and would come from everywhere, flapping and running and squealing in delight, then we'd all do this funny dance where they would rush around grabbing pellets off the ground while I carefully leapt around between them taking flying kicks at next doors two mangy, ratty looking dogs who also knew the sound of the dinner-bell beaker and were usually happily trying their best to eat the chooks.

Years later this crazy dance proved surprisingly popular at our local nightclub following one night when I (on a bet) strutted my stuff after about 10 tequilas.

Employing 3am tequila slammer logic, we decided that if a 'conga line' was a dance about eels, then we had just invented the chooka line dance.

Ps.
My big big mate Jerry here wants me to say every time he tries to dance the chicken song dance, he gets the steps mixed up and it always comes out as 'elephant walk.'

Danny 'chickenwalker.'

I have. All of my relatives that have gotten married have had the chicken dance and the reception! I have also done the dance in school. My Pep- band played it at a hockey game and basketball game. I also taught all of my little cousins how to do the Chicken Dance!

yes the hokey pokey, it reminds of the times I use to do it with the disabled people I worked with. Hokey pokey with wheelchairs can be real interesting. And the chicken dance song drives me bonkers.

Yes I have. It is very popular at children's parties I organize.
And i just remembered, a woman whom I knew did have it at her Wedding Reception. I had to make sure the D.J. we hired had the music for it.
