yes early in pregnancy your body retains more water, makes you feel "bigger". It's not actually your uterus and baby inside but the water weight. It may drop off in the next few weeks, and you may be able to wear regular clothes again for a few months (I did up till 4 1/2 months first time).

I am just 5 weeks along with my 3rd preg.1 and 2 I concieved a year apart and I did not start to show until I was 12 weeks with # 2 which was way sooner than the 1st preg. I didn't show until I was about 16 to 18 weeks. With this preg. I am thinking I will start to show probably a little before 12 weeks BUT my son is 6 months old ( I know ) so I've lost my preg. weight but I still have a little pooch you can't really tell clothed but when I'm undressed you can. So I'm thinking I may be in the same boat as you in another 3+ weeks. I kinda still ware my maternity clothes mostly the jeans and the capris. So no I don't think 8 weeks is too soon also you probably feel bloated which always makes me uncomfortable and I feel bigger than I really am. Congrats and best wishes.

It is normal to need a bigger size after only a few weeks. Every pregnancy is different, so don't always go by what others have experienced. Just don't be to overly anxious to buy maternity clothes just yet because you'll be in them for a long time and you will get very tired of them!! That's my personal experience!! Good luck with the baby and enjoy every day!!

It is very likely that you were on the edge of your size for the pants you wore. I don't know anybody, except someone who has already had children, who would already be having problems, but then I don't know anybody under a size 6. Just buy one size larger pants and you should be fine for some time.

You are probably just bloated or retaining water.
Your baby isn't even the size of a pea yet so no baby bump for awhile.
