Even though we do vote for the politicians don't you feel as if they are not making the best decisions for our country and they are not doing what we want them to do? The politicians are supposed to represent our country and what the people want not do what they want all of the time so why are we not being listened to? Why are things not getting done that need to be done and why are the politicians not listening to us?

Jeremy what are you talking about? Your rant on the ACLU and Liberals did not answer the question about how we are losing control of our country to the politicians.

We've lost control to the lobbyists and special interest groups. Politicians from both parties are to blame. Politicians are more concerned with popularity and getting reelected than upholding the promises they were elected to do.

Yes. Many of these politicians have been there much too long. You guys need to vote and yell and scream at your representatives.. They want to stay in office. Watch there votes, not just their words. Check their vote on everything that you care about. This a good site for that and other information.

The corporate lobbyists are out of control. They actually write many of the bills.

The PACS of individuals are many times grassroots groups but the corporate lobbyists is something else. People need to be in groups to be powerful against these guys. Find others like you and get involved.

Read a lot of varied material, know what there're doing. And support good candidates like the future of the USA depends on it. It does.

Go to your caucus, and vote!

The people lost control of the government back in 2000 when Bush was selected by the Supreme Court over Gore. Gore won the vote of the people but we weren't listened to then and the situation has not improved much since. Maybe in 2008 but in the meantime Corporate America carries a lot of under-the-table influence$$$$.

"Anymore"? What do you mean "Anymore". When the distinguished gentleman from New York signed a document 225 years ago, it spelled the end. He signed, I believe it was the Declaration of Independence, against the wishes of his constituents. He addressed the gathering as he signed the document. He essentially said the people sent him to use his judgment, not to rubber stamp what they wanted.

That attitude has prevailed and we are now reaping the harvest.

I hate to say this but it is true. Americans have every bit of government they deserve. 8 or more out of 10 voters vote straight party tickets. Our officials are actually elected by less than two out of 10 voters. Roll in the fraud, dead people and illegals voting and there is nothing here to be very proud of.

Your vote does not COUNT, it is upto the electorial votes that decides the winner. How many times have you heard that Alaska or Hawaii has the deciding vote? The winner is already annouced before all the states have counted all their votes. The reason our government does nothing for its people, is because it is not profitable for them, big money is running this nation not the people. We the people of the United States is no longer it is now we the government of the United States........

Many of them protect the most important things in their lives - their money, their property, and the businesses they work or own. The American People? They could care less...

If we as a united nation would start taking our voting seriously, as well as doing what the AARP did to get stronger, we would be able to get this country back on track.

No, the lobbyists and corupt politicians have control of the country. They all have a hand out and want what's in it for them and not the people they represent. It's sad.

Yes, because like Mexico, our presidential election was controversial and supposedly went to the conservative by a very small margin. And most polls show that candidates such as Dennis Kucinich and Ron Paul as being favored by the American people. Yet all you hear about on TV and in the papers is the latest on Hillary, Obama, Giuliani, Romney, etc.

Of course they dont make the best decisions for the country it all about money they get. I dont really believe anymore that your vote actually counts. I think it is the people in power that decide who gets elected. and the american people get the shaft up the a**.

Hi!!!

No we the people never had or will have the control over the country's interests. That is truly an illusion from politicians in order to gain popularity and be elected, once they are in power, do you really want to know, not who has the control, but "WHAT"??????

MONEY...........TALKS!!!!!! And so by this time the country should know that..................................

" POWER AND MONEY"== CONTROL"
And this is nothing new!!!! Sorry to bring it up!!!

GOD BLESS YOU;

A.Z.
