OK, so my mom enrolled me in a tutoring centre for extra help in calculus. they charge 45$/hour, i go for 1.5 hours so its 67.50$ for an hour and a half.

i know its SOO expensive, but my mom wanted me to get extra help.. :(

anyway so today i went in for the first time today and surprisingly i saw my friend there... i dint even know she went there.

anyway i was talking with her about how expensive it is after class and then

she was like "really, how much do you pay?"
i was like 222$ a month for once a week

then she told me she only pays like 260$/month and she goes twice a week!!

I feel sooo bad for my parents since money is a bit tight but they still wanted me to get help.

what should i do? what should my parents tell them? i dont want to put my friend in an uncomfortable situation by telling the tutoring place but i dont think this is fair of the center to do this!

what should i / my mom tell them???
i still want to go there but i just want a cheaper rate like my friends..

my friend is getting tutored for the same subject. we're even in the same class at school.!

i told my mom, she said she would talk to them.

but like how do u think she should say it... i dont want them to be mad or like kick me out or like anything. but ireally want to have the lesser price. it only seems fair

Definately tell your mother that you don't understand why your friend gets a lesser rate then you do, it may be because of the subject she is being helped with versus what yours is, or it could be that you are being overcharged, either way talking with your mother is the best bet right now.

well, there are alternatives that you can show to your mom... 45$/hour is way tooo much...

there are couple of websites where you can go and look at tutor's profiles and hourly rates. For example, go to http://www.tutorgator.com and see how much tutors charge...
