You may very well have an infection. Most of us women bleed for up to 6 weeks after birth.Your the first I've ever heard of that only bled a week.I would get to my obgyn asap.I don't believe the infection is in the stitches but some place else.An odor is not normal at all.

I had a baby 4 weeks ago. I don't know anything about the discharge as I'm still bleeding a little bit.
The itching however, I think is from the stitches. The doctor checked me and I don't have an infection and I itch like MAD. I'm sure its just from the healing process and the stitches.

I'm sure that you have a 6 week postpartum checkup scheduled with your OB already, but I'd give them a call and let them know your symptoms. They may have you come in early to check you out and test for infection. The symptoms you're describing sound as though there's something going on. Our bodies take a bit to return to normal after having a baby, but with odor and itching I'd suggest getting it checked out.

Sounds like it could be an infection. I would tell your doctor about it. I stopped bleeding at 3 weeks but had no foul odor or yellow discharge.

Make a dr. appt. The odor could mean an infection.

Have you been for a checkup since the birth? When was the last time you were checked? I would call your healthcare provider and tell them.
