i love baseball because it is a lot more complicated than it looks. I know a lot of people say that baseball's so easy blah blah blah but it's soo not! THere's a lot of strategizing and practicing going on there. I love watching players that show what they can do and sometimes it's amazing to see what they can do :) and the field is just amazing. baseball games are fantabulous!
annnnd i love my angels because they're different from a lot of the other al teams who just (no offense) wait around for the hero to step up and hit a homer. i know the angels aren't known for being biig homerun people.. but they do everything else! stealing, sac flys, sac bunts squeeze i mean ANYTHING to move a guy over .. so that's great with me

GO ANGELS!

Why do I like baseball? hmmmm.....cuz some of these players are cute/hot/good looking and they have nice butts too!! Ok, aside from the looks, no one can determine what the baseball will do once it hits: bad bounce, the wind carries it or doesn't carry it, etc. so players have to rely on their athleticism, skill and instinct. Ok, thinking of David Wright's over the head barehanded catch....mmmm......Oh uh, ok haha sorry. Plus, I'd like to know how many people would be able to walk up to the plate during batting practice and try to hit a 95 mph pitch. I'd probably just stand there like 'oh poop!' It's allllll good, baby, it's allllllll good! Oh yeah plus there are extra innings and playing during the summer heat where the temperature on the field is warmer than the stand, playing days in a row, traveling from coast to coast....ok what was the question? I dunno, I just think there's a lot to be said about guys who play baseball for six months out of the year and for the sport itself. Baseball Rocks!!

I love baseball because you need to be a great athlete and have a brain as well...Baseball is a thinking game....Also baseball is the only sport where the defense is in control of the ball.....

I love baseball because anything can happen. It's got drama, excitement and atheletism. In September, you practically have butterflies in your stomach when your team is in the middle of a pennant race, as with the Yanks and Red Sox. It's what makes the summer worth living!!

Baseball, whether it's two playoff contenders in September, the College World Series or the local little league, is a combination of speed, tension, athleticism, and strategy. There is no clock, which makes it different from virtually every other major popular sport. And it's based on one of the most difficult propositions in sport, hitting a hard round ball with a round bat.

The rant of the guy above me is off the mark. The drug allegations may be what is wrong with MLB. I disagree. But the race of the players should be irrelevant. What difference should it make if you are talking about set up men, whether Okajima or Rolland-Smith or Linebrink or Chamberlain or Corpas is Japanese, Australian, American or Native American or Latino. It should not and it does not.

Because baseball is so great a game that not even the incompetence that runs it nor the cheaters that play it can take away from it's perfection.

Well, basketball has never interested me, i'm constantly saying "is that guy ok?" when I watch football, golf is too slow for me, you can't use your hands in soccer(i dunno why but that always irritated me). And baseball, just right. I love the diving catches, the stolen bases, leaping saves, the crack of the bat when a homer is hit! Baseball is my kinda sport. Rock on! haha...

And that is my answer.

I don't, actually..

All these allegations and steroid users and cheaters, etc.

It totally killed the game. Every time someone hits a home run I can't help but think that maybe he's a user too. It's really terrible.

I don't even want to get into the influx of Spanish players. I have nothing against them, but it's hard to like the players when you can't even pronounce half their names.

Where have all the white and black people gone? There aren't even enough whites to play each position on every team. There are only like 4 or 5 white position players on the Yankees. But there's enough Spanish guys to fill the roster.

Hell, there's not even one black Yankee. Not one. Jeter is half...that doesn't count. What really pisses me off about them is that they hardly speak English. It just annoys me. I can't pronounce their names, I can't understand them talking. It's like I'm watching baseball in Puerto Rico.

The biggest thing that pisses me off these days is all the damn advertising. Advertising behind home plate, behind center field, on the wall, next to the screens, behind the fans, etc. It's frickin' crazy.

Then we have all the advertising from the announcer. The game is sponsored by someone, the "caught stealing" is sponsored by someone, the call to the bullpen is sponsored, the pre game and post games are all sponsored too. It's really out of hand.

It even gets more ridiculous. The weather is sponsored, the schedule is sponsored, the effing trivia question (and answer) is sponsored!!!

Then we have all the god damn corporate sponsors buying the rights to our ball parks name. Petco Park and Comerica stadium? What a f*cking joke.

There's absolutely nothing good about the game these days. Everything is bad. Nothing in the world is what it use to be, even baseball. Of course, I still watch it every day, but it's really hard for me to enjoy it.

Sorry for my rant, but I had to get it out of my system.

I love it because it's a game of patience, strategy, and suspense. You don't need the players to be running around in constant motion to keep you interested.
