I do not know too awfully much aobut Russia, as far as how they are outdated or anything. But I do know that many Americans take much pride in their cars and the many other material things that they have. But one thing that I can truly say for America, is that this country is certainly going down hill very fast. And I know the reason why also. It is because the people of this country have turned their hearts to everything except to God. This country is called the country that trusts in God, and what a lie that has become, when we think of the country as a whole. So many of the people have turned away from God completely, and never worship Him or give Him any praise whatsoever for the many blessings that they enjoy every day. This country used to be a true Godly nation. But I cannot see it any more. Our monetary system says on every piece, "In God We Trust." But this has become nothing but a lie, for the most part. So many people think that just saying the words, "God Bless America," is going to cause God to pour blessings out upon our nation. God is about to pour judgment upon this nation like never before, if we do not soon turn back to Him in repentance of sin. This nation needs revival like we have never needed it before. People had better get on their knees before God in prayer, before we see our nation completely destroyed. We think that because of our large armed forces, that we have nothing to worry about. But we had better start putting our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, instead of placing our faith in our material weapons that we possess, before we have to see our nation completely destroyed.

Personally, I never claimed the USA was the "best country in the world." Frankly, I think the people who do yell that at everyone, every day, are pretty f***ing obnoxious. We have no universal health care, the rich are stealing all the money, the middle class is vanishing because all the jobs are being shipped overseas, elections are becoming meaningless, and religious nuts are trying to turn us into a Christian version of Iran. We have a lot of problems, and we need to fix them, fast.
However, I have Googled Russia before. And from what I have seen, we have more paved roads just in the state of Ohio (where I was born) than in all of Russia.
The United States isn't perfect, but we still have a Constitution, a Bill of Rights, and live under the rule of law. Our educational system, at least on the college level, is good enough that nearly everyone on the planet who can afford to sends their children to be educated here. Our medical advances are second to none. Many of the world's leaders of state have come here for their open-heart surgeries.
And while we're on the subject, that PC you're typing on was invented here in the good ol' USA. And the Internet, which the rest of the world now takes for granted, was developed by our Department of Defense.
Russia is a beautiful place, I admit, but I think I'll stay home, thanks just the same.
One last thing: Don't judge all of us by that moron in the White House. Most of us didn't vote for him, either time.
bob: I don't recall mentioning a lot of material things. And yes, a paved road is better if that ambulance or fire truck has to get to your house in a hurry during a heavy rain. Re-read what I said. I didn't say we were the best. I said we have a lot of things better than some places in the world. I know other countries have good things, too, and some better. Relax. No one has a corner on anything. If you hate the USA, fine, just say so, because frankly, I don't care.

>Why do Americans...?
think that they have the best country in the world
Do you really think that all 300 million US citizens agree on anything. Seriously. There is a quite vocal minority in the US that complain that Canada has a better health care system, the French work less hours, our jobs are being exported to China......... In the 52 years I've lived in the US I've never heard anyone wish to replicate any system used in Russia (except AK-47s).
>most of them say that Russia is soooo outdated?
Most US citizens know little about Russia and could care less. Perhaps you could enlighten us about what in Russia is "World Class". Things like products the rest of the world is eager to import, international efforts to eradicate disease, aid to other countries, or even a reduction in government control of the Russian press.
>you Americans say that you have the best weapons,
An exaggeration, however the US does have a history of importing better designs from other countries when domestic designs are not the best. Heck, quite a few people in the US own semi-automatic versions of the AK-47, usually not ones made in Russia though.
>the best cars driving on your streets
Because there are lots of people with enough money to buy the best cars that Italy, Germany, and Japan have to offer.
>the best of everything?
Being a nation of immigrants, the US tends to import the best ideas that immigrants bring with them. What makes the US great is that its dominant economic and social structures lead it to change in favorable directions (the sarcastic would add "After trying all the other ones" 8-)
America's version of "Continuous Quality Improvement".
>maybe its because you guys have never been in Russia. .
Perhaps instead a complaining you should telling us what there is in Russia that would make it worth visiting instead of places that Americans usually go: Europe, Japan, Australia, China, Mexico, Canada.

Theres nothing in wrong with national pride and I'm sure you will agree.
I still don't see that many imports from Russia at least the not the cars. But the weapons on the streets..... oh yeah they're Russian alright.

hey i agree. this country thinks they're all that, when they're not. its not just some american saying "im the best, russia sucks" , its more of a general feeling of "im better than you all". from what ive seen of russia, which is mainly just tv and stuff, i love it. its so much more real and stuff and not crappy and shallow like it is here in america. as soon i graduate and get some money and everything im comin over there, leavin sucky america behind to slowly but surely disentegrate into a stupid, nothing country, and moving to awesome glorious russia, or maybe italia! the great awesome boot country! =)
and holy crap, what you said, Calvin S, is sooo completely utterly true. america is so big on all their products and their stuff and their fashion and crap and they forgot all the things that really matter. most importantly, yea, God. god the friggin pledge we used to have to say in school..i HATED it. "one nation, under God..indivisible...with liberty.and justice. for all. MY ***! under God?!??! ch-yeaaa right. i mmean yea, it was like that like 50 years ago, but now?? under the freakin devil would be closer.

I understand that the fall of the Soviet empire was a terrible blow to many russians. Your pride was wounded.
USA is still a healthy country despite inumerous mistakes done recently.
Russia is a sleeping giant awakening slowly. I think we also need a healthy Russia to contribute for the good future of humankind.

Well it's not just Americans that have pride for their own country, I know people from out of the USA and they think that their own country is way better than the US. So I guess it really depends who you are talking to and how their input on everything is.

no americans think they have the best country on earth because of our freedom! America is the center of world trading which makes it easy for america to get the best weapons, the better cars, money, etc. Russia is a beautiful country, the way the country is ran is why we think it is outdated. if any country in general is outdated i put my money on england! haha

I have personally never said anything against Russians since the Cold War ended. And I don't think I have heard anybody else say anything like that either. As a matter of fact, I've never even met a Russian in my life. So, don't worry. We're not all plotting against you.
