prank call is messing with someone on the phone, crank call is when you are calling your dealer for some crank

I say crank when I'm calling them and hanging up. I say prank when I'm calling them and pretending to be from the post office telling my buddy Tim that we have his new issue of M4M but it was damaged and he can come down and pick it up once he signs for it. Now if I call a girl at like 2am for a booty call and say nothing when they answer, that's not a crank or a prank, it means I just passed out drunk.

I used to "prank" call people as a kid in the late 80's early 90's before crank yankers which I think started the whole crank call name.

When I was a kid, I always used to say prank call. Crank call, prank call, there's no difference. They're both a childish and sometimes funny way to piss someone off.

I say prank call...I never understood why people said crank call, crank reminds me of things that u have to crank...which is not a telephone call.

I say prank call, the only difference is the first letter as far as I know.

It's a prank call if it's kids. It's a crank call if it isn't kids or it's threatening.
