The Irish aren't even the best winless team in the country. Colorado State owns that dubious honor.
About the best thing that can be said for the Irish right now is that they might be the best 0-4 team in the country ... might.
Right now the BGS Ratings have Notre Dame ranked 99th out of 120 teams, worse than Duke and Central Michigan but marginally better than New Mexico State, Army & Toledo and still significantly better than Rice, Temple and Florida International.
The good news for Irish fans is that they can't drop much lower, so it should be all good from here on in. Let's hope.

It's their offensive line, plain and simple. Their defense doesn't suck, it plays well enough to win games, if the offense could stay on the field and maybe put some drives together. But they've had a tough time protecting the quarterback and the run game has been abomidable. Their skilled positions are good enough, but they're no good unless the offensive line does their job. They showed improvement today, they scored two offensive touchdowns, and they'll keep improving, but it's all about the offensive line. In the off-season, recruiting good o-linemen has to be the top priority for the future.

You should of never forced Lou Holtz out. Then Ty Willingham. He didnt get a whole lot of time.Bob Davie....
The standards of getting in at Notre Dame have hurt recruiting.I love to see the Irish do well. But I feel that the administration is at fault for the mess.Charlie Wiess seems to be a good coach, but can he ever win a big game???I feel your pain.I would bring in the Pope for a few practices.Maybe that would help.

I'm not an ND fan, per se, but that's a good question.
It's a crazy year for all of college football.
From what i've read, they have a young team.
I don't know why they like that Clausen kid, but he's young.
They'll be back i'm sure. It's a GR8 school with a lot of tradition.

Not just Brady...Jeff, Rhema, and Darius too...and the O Line really sucks...which I don't understand...It didn't suck this bad last year...I think they lost a couple starters...
And the defense, while it seems faster to me, are really constantly blowing their tackles, which they seemed to do at times last year...

that and 7 other starters on offense alone. don't underestimate the loss of darrius walker and 3 offensive linemen.

No, it's because the defensive and offensive lines are terrible.
