I'm 37 weeks pregnant and dead set on VBAC. However, my doctor (at 35 weeks) decided she HIGHLY recommends a c-section because I only have a single-layer suture. I'm not overweight, gained a little more than normal but not much (35 lbs so far), no diabetes, great blood pressure. The baby MAY be big. My 20 week ultrasound showed it EXACTLY on track and cI haven'ct been tape measured for 3 weeks.

Any stories for me? Success stories will be encouraging. If you were unsuccessful, do you feel like you could have been successful if you weren't so "high risk" for uterine rupture? Did you have a uterine rupture?

I wish you all the best, I hope that you can have your VBAC. :) If not, though, remember, what matters is that your baby is safely delivered.

My son was delivered via emergency c/section. Both he and I were in distress, I wasn't progressing, only got to about 5 cm, and he was stuck, his heartrate was decreasing dangerously.

My mind was set on attempting a vbac when I was pg with my daughter. I wanted nothing else, that vbac meant the world to me. All was fine, but then her heartrate started to decrease. I was given oxygen, put on my side, and things began to look up, but within minutes, the heartrate decreased to the 30's. No vbac for me. Turned out that the cord was wrapped around my little gal's leg.

I truly hope that you are able to have the vbac, but again, I'll say that, if you aren't, the most important thing is that your little one arrives safely. :) I wish you all the best, good luck!

I haven't had a vbac, but I thought I'd suggest not using the term "sucessful" or "unsucessful" while you're planning your delivery. If you do, in fact, end up needing a c-section again, why have it in your head already that that was "unsuccessful"? A delivery with healthy mom and baby is a sucessful one.

I do hope things work out for you and that you get some good input from others here. I, myself have had a vaginal delivery that caused many physical problems for me (healthy baby though) and a c-section that was like a walk in the park comparatively. Even though a delivery may not be everything you were hoping, sometimes doing what's right according to the information the dr has at the time really does end up being the best thing for both of you. Good luck, we will be having our babies at about the same time.

It may surprise you, but I was considered a good candidate for VBAC and I have a vertical incision which has a higher rate of rupture. Only the arrival of another medical problem has eliminated my options for a VBAC.

Are you sure that she is pro-VBAC? How many of her patients actually do a VBAC? Many women have reported on the boards about bait-and-switch doctors--they never intended to let you VBAC, but just played along and then played a fear card. Some have dumped their doctors at 39 weeks because of that and just gone elsewhere.

I'm normally a big fan of VBAC (I know a few people who had successful ones) but I'm very wary about the fact that you had a single-layer suture and still want to do it. I think this makes your risks a lot higher. If you haven't already, please do some research about VBAC regarding your specific circumstances (how the sutures were put in), and really think long and hard about your doctor's advice. If your doctor is normally pro-VBAC but doesn't think you are a good candidate, she might have a very good reason.

I had an quite undesirable journey with VBAC it went bitter rapid. My first baby grew to become into an emergency section so i ignored each little thing. i needed to objective lower back if it grew to become into in any respect attainable. So with my 2d baby each little thing stepped forward like it grew to become into think to. My water broke on the twenty 2d of march. All nighttime i in no way had any contractions. So right here i grew to become into questioning that each little thing may be ok. at 10:20 that morning my uterus ruptured and that i bagan to hemorage. Now my bladder is ruined my uterus is vulnerable and my classes are in no way conventional. I bleed for all time. i does no longer advise it to every physique because of the fact they fail to allow you be attentive to what all happens in the experience that your uterus ruptures. there is likewise a possibilty that your uterus doesnt make it. i've got been given fortunate. maximum might desire to have it bumped off. sturdy success
