Breast feeding is natural starbucks is not. She AND the child have rights to do it. if it bothers you so bad get your coffee and leave. Most women cover up so its not a problem. People have turned womens breast into some wierd sex object and have forgotton their intended use. PLUS as bad as Star Bucks coffee is a little breast takes away form the bitter flavor of their nasty coffee.

Well Tony, since we know that you are not mature (I answered your question about your relationship with your friend's ex) - we can't expect you to understand that breastfeeding is a natural process and should be allowed whenever and where ever a baby happens to be hungry. It is people like you that try to shame women into poisoning their children with formula.
And, I hate to burst your bubble, but in the US there are now 38 states (and counting) that protect a woman's right to breastfeed in public, and almost everyother state has no law against it. If you just want some coffee then buy a coffee maker and leave the breastfeeding moms in peace.
PS - if you are looking hard enough to be offended, the moms probably think that you are a perv or a creep.

I'm sorry if you were "distracted," but there are laws PROTECTING a mother's right to breastfeed her child in any public place specifically to discourage just such an attitude. If there weren't, and women were made to feel even MORE of a stigma for such an act, it's likely we'd have even lower breastfeeding rates -- and therefore even poorer infant health and mortality rates -- than we already do. And trust me, for one of the largest industrialized nations on the map, we SHOULD be doing much better. The numbers are truly saddening.
Now if she walks up to your table and offers some fresh "cream" to go with that coffee, I could understand why you would be offended. LOL But it seems rather immature and completely uninformed to simply feel put out by the fact that she's taking the time and effort to take care of her child, rather than ignoring his cries or shoving a bottle in his mouth --NOT the same as breastmilk, and unfortunately, not every woman can express enough to bottle-feed, nor every breastfed baby easily transition to the different sucking motion required for an artificial nipple.
For what it's worth, I have breastfed three infants, and it is most certainly not the enjoyable, even sexual experience many seem to think it. It can hurt. It can be difficult and even inconvenient. And obviously there's always the worry of upsetting some ignorant individual and having to deal with that anxiety on top of any other issues already on the table! It is a sacrifice, but one you're happy to make because it is best for your child. Perhaps you should think of that next time you're embarrased by a baby being nourished. Because I assure you ... this is your problem, not that family's.

Grow up little boy. Until you can face the real world you had better stay home.
A woman nursing her baby is a perfectly common place thing that should not even interest you one way or the other! If you don't like it then why in the heck are watching for? Look the other way! Believe me her little baby did not decide to be hungry just so that they could bother YOU! How egotistical can you get?
Mothers have been feeding their babies since the beginning of time. What in the heck is wrong with you?
Would you be upset if she was cramming a plastic bottle full of artificial goop down its poor little throat?? I suppose that would be fine with you.
I feel sorry for the poor woman that marries you when you grow up!
YUCK!

Where should she go? The DIRTY BATHROOM to feed her child?
It IS a wonderful natural process. If you aren't a breastfeeding mom you wouldn't understand that. You can't plan when your baby is going to be hungry and they have the right to eat when they are hungry.
I've never seen a mother breastfeeding in public who wasn't in some way slightly discreet about it-- even when personally I don't feel she should have to be.
There are pictures of women in America in the wartimes (40s) I saw recently in a waiting room breastfeeding in the presence of women and men who didn't even seem to notice her. Its the ATTITUDE that needs to change.
Be an adult, and if you are childish enough to get in a hissy fit over a mother innocently feeding her child by sexualized the process, don't stare at her. The law protect her HUMAN RIGHT, not your ignorance and your grande decaf cappucino.

The reason there arent laws preventing this "stuff" in public is because you and the mother both have a right to do what ever you want as long as you arent hurting anyone. If you dont like it then let me suggest looking in another direction. That baby has to eat. And you didnt say but did she cover herself while feeding? Most moms do.

Ummm...is there a law against feeding a baby from a bottle? Maybe you should start spending that $4 on some therapy instead of a latte...maybe your mother didn't breastfeed you so your IQ is down by 10%...I think that's the problem...
Find something else to complain about...children who are breastfed are smarter than you will ever be.

Oh get a life.
Just because you aren't mature enough to understand that breasts EXIST for the purpose of feeding babies.
Believe it or not, there are actually laws in some states to PROTECT mothers and babies from idiots like you who think their discomfort should be other people's problem.
Personally, I am disgusted by obesity. I absolutely want to puke when I see people so fat they have to sit in an electric wheelchair blubbering all out the sides and it makes me absolutely sick to my stomach. Maybe there should be laws against that, since it bothers me.
OR- maybe we should just mind our own business, let the babies and mothers and immobile pigs go on about their own business, and follow that example.

Because babies need food and most people believe breast feeding is best, why should naturally feeding your baby be confined to a mothers room, why shouldnt mothers be able to enjoy a cuppa and a biscuit while they are doing so instead of sitting in a smelly parents room full of dirty nappies, do you know how long it takes just for one feed? I wouldn't breast feed in public because of people like YOU who would be looking at me and being judgemental about it. She has every right to breastfeed whenever her baby is hungry the same as any mum can give a bottle anywhere. Its not like she would have just flopped out her boobs for all to see, I am sure she did it discreetly as possible and was not intending to offend any immature males who happened to be near by.

The days when moms did not breastfeed because they could never go anywhere and if someone came over they had to lock themselves away in a bedroom somewhere are almost over, thank God. Babies do best on breast milk. In most countries there is no stigma attached to a baby feeding openly in public. Here in the US most mothers cover up with a baby blanket or something because of people like you who get offended. I think you should try to look the other way and give the lady a break. She may be self-conscious too, but she shouldn't have to be. As you said, it is nature's way to provide for babies who need to eat regularly. Mothers should not be looked down upon for doing the right thing for their babies. And those like you in our society need to realize it is not a sexual thing and become less offended by it because it is the only thing mom can do if she doesn't wish to be imprisoned by her desire to do what is best for her child.
