While in the hospital one time, I met a woman who was completely senile. She did not know her husband and wasn't there. She would scream that people were trying to cut her feet off and refuse food / help. Her husband stayed by her side for the 5 days I was there, begging her to eat, telling her how much he loved her, reminding her who he was.. holding her hand, and laying his head on the bed and sobbing.. and yet, he never left her side.

I've seen alot of people say they truly love someone, but I wondered after seeing this, if they even really knew love at all. Would they still be sitting beside her, holding her hand...

Do you love you spouse like that? Do they love you like that?

What your talking about comes with age and being with the some person for years. My father in-law took care of his wife for 6 years. She would come in and out of reality and all she did was lay in her bed never got out only when he would take her to the bathroom he would even wipe her.He would give her a bath and wash her hair and put her back in bed with no help from anyone. He would not let anyone take care of her for him. He would climb them steps to feed her breakfast lunch and dinner and if she just wanted something. This man was 70 years old when he was taking her breakfast up to her and seen she had died in her sleep. Now he had just got out of bed with her and never notice that she did not answer him when he told her to wake up he was going down stairs to get her breakfast ready. He is 75 now they were married for 55 years and he still misses her so much, that's what I call love.

I would have to say yes!!! My husband was with me the whole time I was in the hospital after my surgery, he took off of work for four weeks and waited on me hand and foot, he did all of the cooking, cleaning, and watch the girls. I also was by his side many times in the hospital and I would wait on him hand and foot.

I love your story it is true that people think they are in love when it is all good but it is in the bad times that you can tell for sure if two people really love each other when you don't throw your hands up and just quit. It takes truly loving someone to stay even in supposedly hopeless situations. This is good food for thought i think of people really think of these things before getting married and stuff we would have less divorce. cheers

That true love will never happen in my life, I love my husband very much, but he don't really love me anymore.
He don't not inform me when he is in the hospital, but the other woman, I let him go because I am loving him, just want him to be happy.

I love my partner like that and I know he loves me that way too. We both know that the other may have to face some tough times in the future because of health issues...but we are planning to marry and to be with each other in sickness and in health........I couldn't imagine NOT being there for him, even if he wasn't aware of my presence.......

I think that is a wonderful story. That's what true love is all about. yeah, that is the way we all should feel about our significant other. When you got married you said, "in sickness and in health" Didn't you? So my answer is yes, that is real love, that is real commitment. That's true love. Isn't it wonderful?

You never know before you meet your true love. True love can make you look stupid but you just can not hate him/her at all.
Her husband has show you what is true love.
I wish one day my husband will show me his true love not only telling me how much he loves me. He told me few times a day but the truth is he is cheating on me. I just can not make myself to hate him. Maybe one day i'll leave him but i know i'll take care of him if he need me. Just take care of him as the person who love him so much not his wife.
It sound insane, stupid or crazy.. i just love him so much.

Yes, love is real. If love is fake, soon it will be over, before you knew it.
