I have a very pretty decoration, which I would like to put back in my tank, however one of my fish gets stuck in the hole and I need to cover those holes, what should I cover it with that won't harm the water or fish?

Rather than covering it, can you turn it upside down and fill the inside with gravel so the fish can't enter? Then place it back right-side up.

If the hole is too large for this (the gravel falls out), or if the hole is in the back or where you can't see it, cut a piece of plastic canvas (about 25 cents at WalMart craft department) larger than the hole and put on that side to hold the gravel in.

If it faces front, you can still do this if you don't mind how it looks. You can also choose a color that blends in with the ornament, or a dark color (black, dark brown) that may not be as noticeable, depending on how the light hits it.

For a very decorativ touch, try to put some live/fake plants in the hole and make sure it is full so the fish can't sqeeze in. Or, you can use some fishnet and tie it around the top of the hole using some string etc.

try a fish hole cover lol
If possible depending on what your decoration is made of just open up the hole bigger so the fish won't get stuck anymore and you will have a place your fish already likes made better for him.

Is there a way you can make a bigger hole so even if your fish gets stuck, it would be able to get out?

most tanks are sealed with silicone sealer. You could close up the holes with silicone and let it dry good then put the decorations back .

aquarium sealant.... its going to be messy but if you use wax paper on both sides until it dries it should plug up the holes but unfortunately you will be able to see it once its in the tank.

i does not run heat water on him, exceptionally in case you have faucet water. i could gently attempt to get him out, in any different case he's going to rigidity himself in there. in case you are able to not get him out would would desire to ruin the ornament, which you will desire to do away with now besides as quickly as he gets unfastened. placed some tank water in a bucket, and attempt to help him out in there, that is going to likely be greater user-friendly to artwork with. stable success!
