If people don't like stuff from China they should stop shopping at Walmart and other places that drive U.S. manufacturers out of business by only buying their merchandise from countries with no safety standards, workers' rights, or environmental protection, because those are the things that are lost when you get artificially low prices like Walmart's. Anybody who makes a living wage CAN buy American for the majority of products, if it's a priority for them...99% of the people who say they can't really mean they WON'T.

Its in the paint, not plastic as far as i know, but im pretty sure that the painted toys i played as i child contained lead...Not saying its not a bad thing, i wouldnt want to give my kids lead toys, but i think its also alot of noise.

The lead isn't in the plastic, it's in the paints the add to the toys.
As for how they get away with it, their laws are different to yours, and you have unscrupulous vendors in the US who only care about making money, not the safety of what they sell

It should be a huge red flag for us to stick to products that are made in our beautiful country. If the lead hadn't been discovered, I would hate to think how many little ones could have died from the exposure! You really have to wonder! Have a great weekend! Annie

That's why we should make our own stuff. I think it's idiotic that we can't even make our own flag! Go into any store and look for stuff with the American flag on it. 99.9% of it is made in China. Probably lead paint on that too.

Well, that's what will happen when all the jobs in the U.S. are outsourced to these cheap foreign factories, where the workers get paid very little to make these things. You will have to look very hard to find something that is made completely in the U.S.A. today.

you get what you pay for...if the jobs were never outsourced in the first place there wouldn't be a problem. and think of this..what better demographic to cause harm to than children. they're the adults of the future that will probably have to fight our wars. if you make them sick..you've taken away future soldiers to defend the homeland. sounds kinda paranoid I know, but it's possible. on the battlefield if you wound a soldier he can't fight if you make them sick as children you can do it without firing a shot.

Everything from, CHINA, seems to be crap.
first, dog food now, toys. they just don't have tight enough inspection enforcement on, their exports. MATTEL and, anyone else who, does business with them should have to pay a heavy import fee to, be used to pay for labor to re-inspect their products before, they are delivered to consumers.
