i have really dark undereye circles from staying up late and i think it`s heriditary as well. i want to look more awake and less tired, and it`s the undereye circles that are my main problem. i usually wear mascara, revlon colorstay eyeshadow "in the buff", and clinique perfectly real powder. i was thinking of getting the clinique perfectly real liquid foundationa nd benefit`s ooh la lift, but i don`t know if that will help hide the circles.
can anyone give me a makeup routine/look that will make me look more awake and less tired.? if possible, can you list any good concealers [my dark circles are more of a brownish tone].?

Hey girl friend, you don't need make up. My Ma told me this secret when I was a wee 14 year old. Before you go to bed wash your face with a balanced ph alkaline solution with some honey ,sesame seeds and rind from a cucumber. After this when you hit the sack put a poultice of flour (self raising) mixed into milk and honey, allow this to set. Wash off the next morning and you will look a million dollars

Hey sweetie! Here are a few tips for you. First, if you suffer from bags under the eye in addition to circles, don't use liquid foundation; it can draw attention to the problem instead of away. First wash your face as you normally would and pat dry. Then apply your moisturizer to you face; your powder is dry , so please moisturize! Then after a few minutes when the skin has absorbed the moisturizer apply "Sudden Change" instant eye serum. It will FREAK YOU OUT how fast this stuff eliminates dark circles an puffiness! Then after it dries apply a powder concealer. Also if you wear blush, this adds color to your face and gives it a healthy appeal. Hope this helps!

There are many causes of dark circles, from age, heredity, allergies, cold or sinus infection, bone structure and glasses which are not so commonly known.

If you would like to apply home remedies to reduce dark circles, here are some of my suggestions:
Buy a box of regular, old fashioned unflavored gelatin (e.g. Knox) from grocery store. Take a small cup or bowl and put in 1 teaspoon of the gelatin mix. Add one tablespoon of boiling water & stir for a minute. Test it on your wrist to make sure it is not too hot. Then, using a cotton ball, pat it under your eyes as you would an eye cream or gel. Go lie down and listen to some music, or take a bath & let it stay on for at least 30 minutes. Then just rinse it off. Gelatin is very high in Vitamin K & Biotin. It will not remove your dark circles on the first application (but you will notice a difference), but if you do it daily for a week, and then 2-3 times a week for maintenance, you should notice a drastic reduction in dark circles.

Ok so here is what you do you get two fondations one that is your actual skin tone and one that's a little lighter. So first you put the one that matches your skin tone all over your face evenly. Then take the light fondation and put it under your eyes. This will make the circles blend in more. Another thing you can do every morning to make you "more awake looking" is use eye drops in your eyes each morning. This will also make you wake up way faster.

if you want to hide your under eye circles you're gonna have to go for more expensive products that you can't buy at Wal-Mart. Go to the makeup counters at any department store and they will let you try all different kinds of concealers until you find one that works. It will cost a little more, but it will be worth it.
Also, one thing I always do to look more awake is using white eyeliner on my bottom eyelids. It's quick and works great.

There is a treatment product in Dept. stores.
It's called Hylexon. It says it takes care of serious dark circles.
You need more sleep and this product to treat the problem first.
While using Hylexon, use a concealer to hide them.
You can also use a white eyeliner on the lower rim of your eyes.
It makes you look more awake

The best thing I've found is a facial highlighting pen for quick highlighting under and aroudn the eyes to keep them from looking so dark. After you use this then you add your regular foundation on your face as you normally would. They blend naturally so you cannot tell you're using the highlighter.

For long term you're going to want to try something to reduce puffiness and dark circles

good luck!

If you have dark circles from staying up late, you might try getting more sleep over a sustained period.

If you have really bad undereye circles...you should talk to your dermatologist...it may be expensive but there are a variety of laser treatments that can rid them permanently.
