I was at a place called Momi Toby's Revolutionary Cafe in San Francisco a month ago, and the young (20's) Barista who was on was playing some revolutionary music. The music had a hard driving rock beat similar to some of Springsteens music, but this guy's voice was even rougher and more gravel-ly, and while the guy's language was clean, he didn't spare the sword. He took vicious swings at the establishment from the opening to closing of his tunes.

I am kicking myself for not asking who this guy was. I even tried calling the place with no luck, but I am hoping that this rings a bell with some of you music experts out there.

I don't think the guy was a group, because he was the only artist on the whole album, no back-up vocals. His lyrics were also relatively complicated. Dylanisk in complexity, but much harsher (And with the hard driving rock beat). I would love to get that album. Perfect for these times. Thanks for your ideas!

I'm sorry. I have no clue. However, you did try calling the place. But... Just what did you ask about? That may hold a better clue about finding out what you need to know.

If you asked only about the music they played that day. Then a better aproach may be to ask who was working at the approx. time you were in, and if that person is the one responsible for selecting the music played in the cafe.
