does wishy washy ring a bell?
examples from my own experience would be the person whose opinion depends upon whom they are talking to at the time or the person who will not commit to any opinion for fear of alienating someone.this also includes a bad habit of not expressing their wants and needs, just going along with whatever wind blows.
this type of person is usually so insecure and over dependent upon the approval of others that they have no real ability to make decisions, because they so lack conviction in their beliefs that they are found to often change loyalties or ideas, depending who they are with, desiring to influence or wanting to show allegiance to or have association with ,he can be easily swayed.
A double minded person is actually dishonest with themselves and others, and appears to use truth and lies in whatever situation to benefit themselves in some way. not knowing how to stand on his own he is afraid to be himself. The person is filled with fear of alienation and rejection.
I think everyone has been guilty of this to a point but we get over it as we learn to accept ourselves for who we are and learn to stand up for what we believe in.

What comes to my mind when thinking about someone who's double-minded is what the Bible says about it:
"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, not in a condescending way; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For don't let that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." James 1:5-8
This says that a double minded man wavers like the wave of the sea. We know that the waves go up and down, and in every direction. You can't depend on the waves to go in the direction that you think it will. So it goes with a double minded man. He goes first one way, then the other. He says one thing, then another. You can't depend on him to be honest. You can't trust him to be where he says he'll be. You can't know for sure what he really believes, because he's always coming up with a new twist to what he says. You can know a double minded man by what he does, more than what he says. Pretty much, though, a double minded man is a liar, cheat, and untrustworthy. You can depend on them to be undependable. <*)))><

In a letter to the apostles James used the word and meaning to transfer loyalties, wavering, uncertain or two faced and even some Godly people can be double minded in their faith.

a double minded person can be a person who uses a double standard when it comes to dealing with certian situations.. or a person who can deal with situations by giving them the effort and values they need even if they contradict each other at times.. or a double minded person can simply have what we call a multiple personalities disorder...

There is double minded in the sense of someone who is experiencing schizophrenia -- a split mind.
However, we all "suffer" this. A double mind is the duality that humans are able to create with thought and speech. We are likely the only species that communicates with itself. When you speak to yourself, with whom do you speak? Does the I speak to the me?
The most common example of a double mind is when someone says "part of me wants to do this and part of me wants to do that." In that case, we could say that someone is of two minds.

A "double minded" person is called a bipolar person. They're people who seem to have two very different personalities; one could be very sweet and kind, then suddenly they might change to be mean and harsh. It's not really a mood swing- it's more severe. Their personalities can change within minutes. It would be very strange to be bipolar, I should think...
