We always seek the best for ourselves and family and sometimes we have to trample on others to achieve our goals. It happens at all levels of society and those who deny it are just hypocrites with a guilty conscience.

We send dog's to obedience school so they do what we want them to do... Does this mean they are corrupt at birth, or does it mean that we would rather they didn't behave in the natural way?

Humans are born natural, not corrupt. Our cultures and civilization requires us to control some of the natural urges to both protect society and ourselves. This is not corruption, it is cultural growth.

If you're coming from the idea that people are always after their own welfare, there are options: (1) people will INTENTIONALLY DO ANYTHING to achieve what they want, good or bad, or (2) people will WORK HARD, believing that their goodwill will be repaid. The first group may include those who pull people down to let themselves look better. The latter group just works on themselves, letting themselves shine, without intentionally changing the others' conditions. If they somehow affect the other people, it must have been unintentional. The nature of corruption, then, is just in the first group.

I personally believe that not all human beings are corrupt by nature, the working term being ALL. There are people who are, I guess, born more corrupt than others. Then again, people can be influenced by environment, or even forced by circumstances. It all boils down to the degree of corruption, including your own.

On the last statement that "those who deny it are just hypocrites with a guilty conscience," I doubt if these people feel guilty or have any conscience at all.

Every human being is born into sin. And we every one are guilty of committing sin during our lifetime. (Rom. 3:23) We all should always seek the best for ourselves and for our loved ones, but we do not achieve such by trampling or running over other people. We do so by faithfully serving God, and allowing Him to lead us and guide us every step of the way through our lifetime. It is true that there are people in all levels of our society who enjoy trampling over other people. But they are not called hypocrites. They are called lost people, who have never known Jesus Christ as their Savior or Lord. For once we become children of God, we will have a desire to love all other people; not run over them.

Yes, if you look back in history, human race have been filled with violence and corruptions. The Greeks have recognized this and is well explained in publications as such as "Plato's Republic." If we were left alone with no laws of any sort, who knows what will happen, other than us destroying each other. Money is not the root of evil, it's greed of men for money power and everything that men perceive that are attainable.

We are animals...and we will do whatever it takes to get the best of what we want. It isn't pretty, and that's where the word "civilized" comes in. I don't think that's being corrupt. Corruption happens when you sacriface values, friends and loved ones to gain what you want for yourself. Lying, cheating, stealing, etc....that's corrupt.

Corrupt behaviour is a choice. Generally, it SEEMS to be the easiest choice when we make it. But, it isn't. And most people are NOT corrupt most of the time.

"Corrupt" is a social term for improper deviousness. Otherwise we are all devious from birth as a necessary aspect of protection from predators.

Adam and Eve brought sin into the world and everyone who has an earthly father is a sinner. All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.
