I had planned on taking clothes for me and my son, money and things that you know you will need or want but that is not how it worled out.
I went into labor at 35 weeks and it could not be stopped so they airlifted me to a university hospital in my homestate which is almost 2 hours away from here. I had nothing with me. All i had was a hospital gown on and my socks.
My husband and mom left right after the helicopter took off so they did not have time to go back home and get my things. I had no time to do anything.
I was at the university hospital in like 20 minutes but it took my family almost 2 hours to get there so by the time they got there i had done had my c-section and was in my hospital room.
They went out and bought me things that i needed. I would tell everyone to have things packed way ahead of time because you never know what can happen.

I packed a huge bag and didn't use much in it. I would pack a cute outfit and blanket to bring your baby home in, a comfy outfit for you to go home in, and that's about it. The hospital will provide all the wipes, diapers, and other stuff you need and also your husband or a family member will probably go home and come back before you're ready to leave the hospital and they can get you whatever you want. Congrats and good luck! - I can't remember if the hospital gave me a toothbrush and toothpaste and shampoo, I brought my favorite stuff so I could feel pretty for family coming to visit.

With our oldest- wayyyyy too much!
By the time we had our third- just the basics. My cell phone, pens, paper, something to wear home because you still will look at least 6 months pregnant.
For all, I wore hospital gowns in the hospital until I left because they made breastfeeding easier- far easier to cover up with them as well.
Take along some sugarfree candies- they help in labor and when you get hungry between meals there.
Toiletries as they are not provided by hospitals.
Baby clothes
Oh! lansinoh ointment for me.
Everything else, the hospital provided.

Comfy pajamas, non-skid socks, conditioner for your hair, two outfits for the baby to go home in (bring two and decide which one looks the best on the baby), a camera is a must, a video camera, and most importantly.....a good coach to help you through the delivery. If your married, it's good to bring along a few other people because you never know who's gonna crack under the intense birthing process. It's usually the husband.

I took my basic hygenic items...but whatever you do, please be sure to take something SPECIAL for yourself so that you will feel "human" again. You need that!!!! Also, an outfit and a few extra diapers for the baby in case we had an accident on the way home...but we were over an hour away. Oh, and the pacifier you will want your baby to use IF you want him/her to use one. Most of all, remember to BOND with your baby and rest, rest, rest! The rest will come together and if you forget something, send someone to get it...it's your time. Focus on you and your baby!

I took a pair of lounge pants and a t-shirt for me to wear home, underwear and pads (take the kind you like, because the ones at the hospital are terrible) Also a travel kit w/ shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion, toothpaste and toothbrush, hairbrush and makeup. (lots of people will visit you there so you want to look nice too!) For baby I brought 2 cute outfits to wear home and for hospital pics, a blanket and passifer, the bottle I had decided to use, breast pump, camera (digital and video) A book for me. thats it.

you should take shampoo, conditioner, a nightgown and robe with slippers, your makeup, some lipbalm for labor, you will be breathing heavy with no water to drink. also, bring the baby a cumfy outfit. when you go home you will be shaped like a pear, so bring some fat clothes.
