pants are made that way because they need to be sturdy. Unfortunately this isn't very comfortable so they made something softer to wear under the pants. Unfortunately underwear isn't durable enough to wear on the outside so we wear both

Just in case we want to go swimming on the way home from work or shopping! All you have to do is tear off your clothes and jump in the ocean, lake, stream, river or public pool and nobody can say a thing!

1, To avoid rubbing the thing down there with pants or short specially if they are tight.
2. To cover the thing if blouse flies or fly opens.
3. To hide the smell if you fail to wash
4. To catch poop in case you failed to reach the cr on time!
