I'm going to my school's Homecoming Dance for the second year in a row. Last year was just to see what it was like- I didn't have a date, just went with a bunch of my friends and we had fun.

I'm a junior this year though, and I was wondering- should I go with a date or just with my friends? I'm pretty sure some of them are bringing boyfriends this year. But I'm also a bit nervous about asking someone out- I don't really know many of the guys at my school, and the ones I do know either already have dates or they're not going to go.

Any suggestions would be welcomed.

well i went with guys to dances and i've went with friends to dances. i prefer the friends. it's just more fun that way. you could do what you want when you feel like it and go talk to whoever you want and dance with who you want. trust me, it's better that way. =)

Do not too many people go to homecoming at your school? It just seems surprising that people dont want to go to the dance, we all look forward to them. If not many guys are going, then dont worry about having a date, unless ALL of your friends have a date and you dont...then it could be kinda awkward. You shouldnt worry about it, just go with your friends if someone doesnt ask you, and if you feel like you absolutely have to, then ask a guy to go with you, odds are he will just be happy to have a date to the dance. Dont stress it, as long as you go to the dance then you will have fun

It's totally up to you. If you feel up to asking a boy to the dance, then go for it, all he can do is say no and you can decide to go and have fun with your friends, or maybe ask a boy in a more casual way saying, you are going with friends and want to know if he wants to go with. Just follow what feels right for you and have fun!!

Well with our school dances, my friends and I just plan to go together unless one of us gets a date first. So if you think you'd have a better time with just your friends, then by all means, go with them. OR if a guy asks you out, and you wanna go with him, than go with him. Whatever makes you happy. :-)

well it all really comes down to why u want a date. is it because u want to go with one to the dance, or is it because ur a jr now and ur expected 2 hav a date? if u really want one, go ahead- ask! if one turnsu down, dont get dicouraged, its his loss. there are plenty of fish in the sea. u just need the right bait. ;-)

I would plan on going with my friends, and then if someone asked you, & you liked them you could go with them, & if you didn't like them you could say "o well im already going with my friends, but i'll see you there"

dont ask guys out to the dance, its a bit strange. But if no guy asks you, just go with your friends, flirt with the hot guys a lil bit too. lol. just have fun!!! who cares if you go with a guy or not, as long as you have fun its all good, right?!?

You don't have to ask anyone. I know people who never asked someone all four years.
