The moment I looked into my first child's eyes after he was born. It was the only time in my life I knew what euphoric really felt like. Time almost stopped it seemed. One of my most vivid and beautiful memories. Who knew we could feel that way? Love doesn't even describe it (and no, I was not drugged up on pain killers).

Now when I had the following three it did not happen though I was happy to meet them, I guess I had learned by then what was in store! Ha ha.

The word serene makes me think of the first time I saw the ocean. We had made a long trip in the car with two small children, and it was dark. After we put up the camper and got settled, I walked over the dune with the evening breeze stirring around me. And, as I reached the top, I could see, hear, and smell the ocean. Pure peace.

The time that I remember the most was when my oldest daughter graduated college. It was a feeling like OK now's she's an adult who's truly on her own with the prospect of a good career and no children who weren't wanted to get in her way. She's able to take care of her self and we can truly become friends because I can now totally turn her life over to her. I no longer have to say anything unless asked.

When I was walking in the snow covered street during the early morning. Almost no one was awake at 7 in the morning on a Sunday. No cars, no noises, just the splash and clunking noise of my boots.
