the consistency of the black nailpolish that i bought thickens, making it hard to apply on nails and i dont know why. i mean, it's not flowing or liquid-y like the other nailpolishes that i have. is there a better brand out there or can i do something so it won't have that consistency.

I don't know what brand you're using, but it could be low quality or it could have been sitting on the shelf for a long time before you bought it. The fact that it's black wouldn't make it thicken faster than other colors. You can try to salvage it by adding a drop or two of nail polish remover, re-capping, and then rolling the bottle vigorously between your palms. But you're going to have to add the remover at least a few times per manicure because it thickens again fast, which is a pain in the butt.

Try Essie next time. L'Oreal and Maybelline also make rapid-drying formulas that I swear by, and they're cheap enough to replace often. And always store your nail polish in the refrigerator, year-round...it thickens a lot slower that way.

It could be that the bottle of nail polish you bought was old. Add a few drops of nail polish remover to the bottle and shake well. It will thin it out and give you a smoother finish.
