I heard it gives people viruses, but I also heard it only gives viruses (or whatever) if you download songs. All she did was install it, will it do anything harmful? And how exactly do I get rid of it?

Thanks, and even if there are other answers, please reply! You never know, you might be the one whose advice I follow. :-]

(And YES, she's in big trouble)

I clicked Add/Remove Programs, and it SAID that it uninstalled, but the folder is still there and won't go away when I try to delete it - it says that it can't delete while the program is running, or something.

Sorry, forgot to mention - Limewire does NOT show up when I click Add/Remove Programs (or Uninstall Programs), but what do I do about the file titled Limewire that won't delete?

No, Limewire itself will not give you a virus, but some of the computers that you connect to may have a virus attacched to the files that you are sharing. Remember ANY Peer to Peer Network file sharing program works the same - you can get a virus from ANY of the computers that you share programs/files from - NOT the file sharing program itself.

OK, that said. Go to Start>Settings>Add or Remove Programs>Limewire, highlight it and click the Remove button to remove the program from the computer. Then reboot.

First, Limewire does not give you viruses. It is a file transfer utility. Secondly, you must reboot the computer for the install to fully take effect (references to the program in the registry are removed upon reboot).
