Even though it was for all the wrong reasons, Hitler was a very good leader. He had an uncanny ability to Unite the people in a way never before seen in the history of Germany. He managed to bring Germany out of depression and brought new technologies and military advancements to Germany's army. Hitler had studied ancient technologies and enlisted scientists to study and developed new technologies from these advancement. Many of military developments made by Nazi Germany are still in use today as some of the most capable machines in history.

Neither am I a Nazi or a supporter of any Nazi belief or activity but, for argument's sake...Adolf Hitler came to power at a time when Germany was still suffering from the humiliation and bankruptcy that followed the end of the Great War; when decadence was far more fashionable than morality and the great cities had become a byword for vice and self-indulgence.. he gave people in Germany a sense of pride and patriotism, hope for the future of their country and importance in the world. He encouraged and assisted economic growth and a return to the days when Germany had been an industrial world power...all of which he undermined by the methods he adopted to achieve it! The vilification of other races rather than of the individuals who were..regardless of race.. bleeding the country dry ; the false archaeological finds that "proved" a long history of superiority and greatness in the world..and which could only be believed in Germany itself. That the country did not fall back into decay after the war was due to the Allies decision not to allow this to happen again rather than to the enduring strength of any of his policies. After the Great war it had been felt that Germany should be penalized for the years of misery and horror it had been responsible for but after Hitler..there was no penalty that would have been enough and the western part of the country at least was helped to recover in the hope that this would prevent the conditions that had given popularity to such a creature from recurring. How much lasting good came of any of Hitler's policies can only be answered if we knew what would have happened without him, which we do not.
If you have the time then why not watch the film "Cabaret", starring Liza Minnelli? The depiction of Germany at the time when the Nazis were coming to power is fairly accurate and the scene in which the blond Hitler Youth boy sings at a country inn gives you a good idea of how attractive the movement was made to appear.

Before the War, Hitler did eliminate unemployment in the midst of the Depression, and brought back a sense of National Pride to the German People that was absent since their loss in World War I . Germany was virtually Bankrupt before Hitler came to Power. All of what He did was for the wrong Reasons, but if He had somehow died before WW II , He would have gone down in History as one of the finest German leaders of the 20th. Century, especially after hosting the 1936 Olympic Games. Also, he did help to inspire the Volkswagon Beetle, which He falsely took undue Credit for. And, in it's reincarnated Form, it's still with us Today. Some still call it "Hitler's Revenge". And, I also am NOT a Nazi, or a supporter of Hitler. But this was all brought out on the History Channel, on a Documentary about Hitler.

~From the answers you are getting here, I hope you realize why this is such a stupid place to look for help with your homework. You can get a lot of ranting and raving from people who have no clue what they are talking about, but it is unlikely that you will get any worthwhile information.
In answer to your question, there is too much that he did to try to summarize here. I suggest you look up a copy of the Time Magazine in which Hitler was named 'Man of the Year' (1938) and start from there. He did a heck of a lot more for Germany than George Bush and his daddy did for America. We tend to forget that because of the way he has been demonized (justifiably) by history, but then again, we try to forget that Joe Stalin, Osama bin Laden and Saddam Hussein were once our allies as well. The Autobahn and the Volkswagen were not Hitler's ideas. There was much more that he did than to produce a car and a road to drive it on.
Hit the books - if you look in some objective ones, you are going to be amazed.

No, you sound like a brainwashed leftie your self. The media say besides the fact that sells. MSNBC itself is in basic terms Fox information in opposite. usa is quite nowhere close to Adolf* Hitler's Germany. Nor will it ever be. look the bloody factor up, you have not have been given any theory what you're on in regards to right here. Imperial Japan become much extra socially conservative than Nazi Germany. For fuc*'s sake, the U. S. in 2012 is nowhere close to the two of those places.

He caused the construction of the Autobahn, which later served as a model for the U.S. Interstate Highway system. It was also a strategic military transportation system.
He also initiated what became the Volkswagen, an effort to give every German worker an automobile. Under Hitler the program was a scam--it did produce some military vehicles, but virtually no private cars, until after Hitler was gone.
Hitler also pushed development of large booster rockets, a technology used in space programs today. Aerospace technology under Hitler was cutting edge and remains so today.

Well, not being a fan of the man, about all I can say is that he did unify the country, even if for all the wrong reasons. He obviously had a very high employment rate since he was building all of the war materials in Germany prior to declaring war on neighboring countries. He was able to convince his countrymen that they were THE supreme race. He was convincing! Did you also know that he started out as a wallpaper hanger? NO kidding! I can't really think of anything else positive to tell you, and I am a history buff.

He (his regime) advanced technology more than any other. Jets, propulsion, light, early lasers, and many more cutting edge thoughts and technologies. Germany was flooded in brilliant minds, he funded and fostered the growth of technology. Also, O think he was an evil man that somehow the devil ruled his every move and my answer in no way says I would of ever supported any of his views. Your teacher is asking a brave question to ask in this day and age of "political correctness" and such. I think she is to be congratulated. More teachers should ask "on the edge" questions. You could have another discussion that this is why the Einsteins" of Germany left!
