Its the slave idea.
If you take a free man and beat him until he submits, he will despise you.
But if you take a man that has never known freedom and convince him that you are superior, he will see fit to serve you.

I think that it is incorrect. Either one will make someone hate. Both are forms of violence. One is emotionally and the other physical. The emotional violence may take longer for the man to get to hatred, but he will reach that level. He will obey for a while, but not forever. The opposite is true also. You can make a man obey through beating for a while, but the hatred is still there.
I would call the quote invalid based on history of man.

To interpret a quote you prefer, first of all, to objective to work out the factor of the guy giving it. you will possibly be able to get a quote like a proverb the place somebody is giving advice with the aid of using a simile. as an occasion enable's say you are attempting to sparkling up a topic which, no remember how plenty you attempt, you in basic terms do not look waiting to sparkling up. somebody else might look and say "you won't be in a position to work out the timber for the timber.". In different phrases you're letting issues get in the way of seeing the answer. (Ie the 'timber' are in the way of the 'timber' so which you're seeing the timber without figuring out the 'timber' which you're searching for.) Many eminent human beings use costs to get a factor for the period of. as an occasion whilst it become suggested erroneously that the author Mark Twain had died his respond become 'comments of my dying have been a great deal exaggerated.' consequently offering a witty quote that remains remembered at present over one hundred years after his dying yet, on the comparable time, dispelling the rumours that he had died.

I was fine with the first portion, the second half of the statement lacks any sense for me. I was never interested in loyalty, power or obedience, so I wasn't clear on the significance of this. Further, making someone "feel less than a man" is going to have the opposite effect of what you suggested.

So true! I like, I like!
It shows so poetically a terrible truth. Hurting someone physically will make them rebel (either physically or just mentally as in 'hating'). Hurting someone mentally will make them weak and defenseless (making it easier for one to rule over them).
Very deep...

Make him feel less than a man as in bring him to his realization of a humility his own; not of your will.
Makes sense to me.

when you attack someone physically, they will revenge upon you, but when you attack someone emotionally and make him/her feel that you are superior and that they are of no comparison to you, they will always listen to you and think that you are right.
besides abusing jews, hitler also verbally attacked them so that they feel as if they were less human, leading hitler easily dominating them.
