My sister just had a baby, and as I watch her, she tends to move quite a bit as she sleeps. She'll twitch, smile, or move her hands or feet, instead of lay still. Is this normal behavior? She's about two weeks old now. Thanks for any help :)

Of course, it is normal. The baby is just as human as you and me. Don't you move in your sleep? My daughter has always been a mover since she was in my tummy. She hated to be swaddled and had to have her hands free when she slept. However, if the twitching and moving is constant, every second or so, tell your sister to take the baby to the doctors just to make sure something isn't wrong.

Sounds like normal sleeping behaviour to me. All babies are different, some are very still and some are little wiggle worms moving about.

Of course it is! They move. Our oldest never slept still for long. He actually flopped when he was only 2 weeks old. It's very normal.
