I thought it would be a good idea to post these things that actually happen, might save a life.
One four yr. old Grand son has done all this in the past 6 months at his own home, husband and I have worried more than once.
Followed the ice cream truck for 1/4 mile while his Dad was watching him outside.
Got up at 5AM, had car keys and was sitting in the car, waiting to go to work with Daddy.
Had the garage door open after Daddy went to work at 5AM and Mom didn't know. By himself standing by the street.
Has locked both parents out of the house numerous times, but was able to find the keys or to unlock the door. They finally got wise and recently put in deadbolt locks.
They have a front loading washer and dryer which he loads and unloads himself. He only weighs 33 pounds.
Now, let me hear your scary adventures.

I have a 17-month -old granddaughter that just loves to climb up onto my sofa; then she proceeds to stand up and either walk or run to the sofa's end--where can topple over and hit her head on the concrete floor. She scares me to death every time she does it. And it's about the only thing that makes me jump and run these days. She giggles and laughs each time. TO HER, it's a game. TO ME, it's a disaster in the making.

I have a cousin that had to put a chain lock and dead bolt with a key up high so their son couldn't get out while they were asleep too...he was their 4th child, and was the only one they had this problem with!

For me, the first thing that came to my mind was when my oldest son was about 6-7 years old, and we were at my parents house. He was in the yard riding his bike, and I "always" made them wear helmets...my parents had a brick house then and he was flying down the hill and hit the house before anyone could do anything to stop him. He flew over the handle bars and his head hit the house so hard that it busted the helmet! Thank God he had it on, and other than a slight headache and a scratch on his cheek, he was OK...I NEVER had a problem with getting him to wear a helmet after that one! And, he always made sure the younger brother and sister did not sneak theirs off either!
