it is better of having a respected and loved leader than to have a feared one. for if a leader is just being feared there will come a time when the people he rules will make an alliance to abdicate him or to rebel. if a leader is loved he would know the grievances of his people. and the ruler shall be closer to his people creating a good interaction between the ruler and his people.

A better leader would be someone who is loved and followed because you want to follow them and/or agree with them. To ensue fear is to make sure others will follow you but it does not make them the better leader; only a leader because they have followers.

An effective leader recognizes what motivates the individual.
In a perfect world, that would be respect and loyalty, but sometimes, especially when dealing with ignorance, fear is the only tool that produces results.

Love and fear are not polarities. A "better" leader is one who holds a vision of the future and a vision that appeals to the masses. Love and fear have nothing to do with it.

If is War I prefer the feared leader on my side.
If is a Political Campaign I prefer the loved one.

To me a better leader is someone loved .someone feared is usually not a very kind person; and i wouldn;t want to be around them...Shelly

Someone who is feared will usually have a sort of resistance against them. If people grow to love you, they will trust your decisions, and be more likely to follow you.

I think a leader is a person who can fully admit to being themself and not just another face in the crowd- to fit in.
I think it's about being who you are.
