I guess if I just continue to get stronger from that which doesn't kill me, then I vote for arthritis! It introduces the concept of humility and other quaint notions to those of us who once thought we were young and strong and invincible.

I find the more people question/oppose/challenge my ideals and beliefs the more they just reinforce my convictions.
This is what also does not kill me but makes me stronger. Actually I based a few of my decisions from getting opposing thoughts or down right torn to pieces from this very site.
My main plan in life is not to be a puppet/typical/follower like the majority of those around me. I find myself to be unique while the rest of them COPY one another.
Example: I see that high-water pants are in style - I know that it must be something Hollywood CA incorporated. I find it tacky. I wear all my pants 3-4 inches too long because that's MY style. - I am told I have No style.
Example: I believe our country is in financial distress because its government is too busy handing out instead of taking care its priorities which should be its own people. - I am told to get off the drugs.
Example: I have a family plagued with mental illness and so wish to become a psychologist. - I have been told that my "selfish" reasons are not good enough to pursue it.
I suppose I use opposition to make/keep me strong, because I refuse to be a pawn. I go against the majority, they help me make my decisions and stand by my own side even if I stand alone.

Well I think thats true...Its like running 4 miles...Its REALLY hard but people do it. If you keep doing it you'll be stronger and in no time guess what? Those 4 miles are a breeze! Even after one time of doing the 4 miles you will be stronger because You'll be more confident and know that you can do anything you set your mind to. Its not just physically stronger but mentally as well. Makes you more confident.

My lifelong battle against depression and anxiety. So far it hasn't killed me so I'm inclined to believe I'm a stronger person for making it this far.

Life's struggles make you a stronger and more thick skin individual. If the experiance doesn't kill you, it will make you stronger with life.

That is a phrase that doesn't apply to everything. Drug use doesn't always kill you, but it certainly makes you physically weaker. The phrase isn't one I believe in, sorry, no offense.
