NTSC is the analog television system in use in the United States, Canada, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, the Philippines, Mexico, and some other countries, mostly in the Americas. It is named for the National Television System Committee[1], the U.S. standardization body that adopted it.

There are two main formats of videos available today - NTSC and -PAL. NTSC (National Television Standards Committee) is the format that is used mainly in North America, Japan and Taiwan. PAL (Phase Alternate Lines) is the format suited for players in Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Europe, and most other countries.

Simply put, there are two video formats. One is NTSC and the other is PAL. Different countries use one or the other, but here in the US, we use NTSC. So if you're in the US, that's the one you want.
