Don't forget the early attempts at canning food in tin cans sealed with lead solder ... the tragedy of Sir John Franklin's attempt at the northwest passage was later found by autopsy (in the 1990's?) to have been caused by lead poisoning from the crew eating food full of lead poisoning

food storage goes ALLLLLLLLLL the way back in time my friend! read up on the Hittites who lived in caves and stored their food in areas that were cool enough for it. when they had to hole up during attacks they were all set.

the ancient hebrews and cannanites also stored food in pots in any cool place they could find and people living in cold areas like alaskas were using the ground to store food.

tupperware ain't NOTHIN' new!:-)
