Well I have been sexually active and about a week ago, when I went to urinate, there was very LITTLE blood coming from the urethra. At first I thought it was a UTI so I went to the doctors and they did a urine test. Turns out there was no bacterial growth in the urine, but they did see some inflammatory cells. So now I think that the rough sex could have caused bruising of the urethra. Is that possible? Anyone have the same experience? If so, how long should I be abstinent to heal the bruise before I continue to have sex again?

Hm, it should be noted that I did not use spermicide, and I am not allergic to latex.

Yes, it possible to bruise your urethra from having rough sex. You probably broke some capillaries, you can resume intercourse once you stop bleeding. I would ask your doc., to be sure.

If you used spermicide, it could have been a bad reaction to it, which is why I can never use that stuff. Wait until you feel completely better before you have sex again (without spermicide).
