I don't want crazy, unheard of names, but ones not so common as Emma or Abby

Reagan or Rheagan has always been a personal favorite. It's so pretty, and it's something that can suit a girl when she's an adult too.. it doesn't sound too "kid"-like.

also:
Tess (or Tessa)
Ryanne
Cambria

good luck!

The suggestion of looking for less popular names from the SSA list is a good one, although I'd aim more for those not in the top 500 ... or at least not in the top 100-200! To give you an idea, Mackenzie, Megan, Gabrielle, Madeline, Isabelle and Jordan are all fairly common, popular choices (seriously -- how many of each of those do you know of? LOL), but none are actually in the top 50.

Some less common, but familiar options might include:

Helena
Harper
Luna
Sylvia
Tabitha
Delilah
Araceli
Evangeline
Sonia
Felicity
Maeve
Arabella
Greta
Celia
Ada
Tess
Rhiannon
Lorelei
Mila
Paisley
Annabel
Anais
Magdalena
Adelaide (and since you want to avoid common, shorten to Ada, Adele or Della, rather than popular Addy)
Maura
Citlali
Dahlia

All of those are from the bottom half of the top 1000 names (500-1000, in other words). I tried for a variety of styles, but obviously many lean more toward familiar, but not overused, classics. You'll find that quite a few such names will work beautifully, because everyone's heard of them and they fit in with more common current favorites (such as Emma and Abigail, as you mentioned), but without being overly popular or trendy. Definitely a good way to go. ;)

Hope that helps!

I suggest going to the SS webpage and looking up names that are less popular, like below 50. Sadly you can't look up 2007 just yet.

My sister is naming her girl Calliana and Callie for short...I thought that was beautiful, or you could just do Callie. I also like Gracelyn and Grace for short, Aubrielle and Aubrie for short, Gabrielle and Brielle for short, or just the name Brielle, Ella Marie, Annabelle...and my daughters name is Savannah and so many people love it. Good Luck with finding the right name....hope I helped!
