The rest of the division of n+1 divided by 8 = 6.
n=13, 21 k*8+5 with k: integer.
The reste of the divison of n+4 divided by 8=1.

Integers can be positive or negative. In this case, it's positive. What I think your asking is that you need to know what divided by 8 equals 5. What you do is take the problem backwards ie 5 x 8 = n. That means n = 40. Then you have the equation n+1 divided by 8. In order of operations, You do division before addition so you'd do 1 divided by 8. Work it out on a calculator and you'd get .125. * .125+n would be 40.125 .Then you'd do your next problem n+4 divided by 8. Order of operations again, and divisions first. 4 divided by 8 is .5 . .5 plus fourty is 40.5 . There ya go!

We have n = 8k + 5
So n+1 = 8k+6 so remainder is 6.
and n + 4 = 8k + 9 = 8(k+1) + 1 so remainder is 1.
So any number of the form 8k+5 works.
The first few numbers are 5,13,21,29, 37, ...
