Well heck, we'll just join them and get our entitlements too.
Wait (scratches head vigorously), that won't work. Screw it, we'll just have to get a conservative into office (a real one), and get it over with!

Well, since the wealthy already pay the top 80% in taxes and the middle and working class pay the other 20% They will go on credit, and run this country into deep deficit. Jobs would be lost when the wealthy found they could no longer make profits. The middle class and the working class become the poor class. By this time wealthy would have already got off shore accounts and/or moved to Switzerland. Remember history, those who don't are doomed to repeat it!

Your liberal-baiting simplistic question assumes that we're not already taxed into poverty. Income tax, sales tax, gas tax, property tax, car tax, car license/registration fee (tax), hidden surcharges, bridge/tunnel/highway tolls, medical premiums and co-pays (yes, they're taxes if you have health insurance.) I could go on. A tax by any other name is still a tax. Not to mention the income limiting repercussions on our historic national debt over the generations to come. (which by the way gets larger in part due to the tax breaks for large corporations and the upper class who pay less taxes under this administration) All taxes. Just hidden. Anyway, I'm not sure what you mean by entitlements. Health care for the uninsured? Is that an entitlement? Would you consider beefing up the decimated Consumer Protection Agency, so we don't import stuff from China that kills us and our children, an entitlement?
The truth is, it doesn't matter if our government is liberal or conservative, the middle class always gets it in the end.

They will balance the budget and quit pouring money into the infinite black hole called Iraq.
We are already being taxed to death in order to fund a war started with criminal intentions based on lies just to fill the coffers of their friends.
We have a greater debt in this nation than ever in our History.
Reagan had us almost Bankrupt, GHW - didn't help a bit.
Clinton Balanced the Budget and had use going into the black.
GW gets hold of the purse and holds a private ticker tape parade made of our money for his Saudi friends, the Military Industrial Complex and the insurance industry.
Your Great Grand Children will be paying the interest on this debt that was acquired at a rate of speed that was so fast it was just damned scary.
I say we confiscate all the assets of the Carlyle Group to help refund our tax dollars and start taxing the Right Wing Churches since they can't stop politicking and violate the IRS Laws.
We are already be taxed to death. I am middle class and a third of my income goes to the fed. Then consider all the hidden taxes that are buried in the cost of goods.
The Republicans are the Tax and Spend Party.
That is just one of many reasons I call myself a recovering Republican. I could no longer support the party that abandoned my values. Now I am a Democrat, I would say that you could call me a Goldwater Democrat.

I think many liberals do not understand how to keep our economy running. There has to be profit and profit incentives for our businesses. There has to be money for households to spend. I do think we need better incentives for big business to keep them in the US and not in a foreign country. It would be great if we could have all these programs, but it comes down to who will pay for it.
Perhaps the Fair Tax bill will one day be put into play. I would happily pay a little more for everything as long as I knew everyone else was as well.

another generic question with zero facts or attibutions...
Republcians using all those "facts" again... right?
which entitlements? universal healthcare? have you seen what percent the middle class pays for healthcare on average?
insurance companies are already putting them into poverty... maybe this plan would pull them out?

The libs will say tax the rich while refusing to admit that the wealthiest not only pay the most as a percentage of the total tax burden but also pay more in terms of the percentage of nations total wealth that they control. Tax corporations more??? Who is a corporation??? shareholders who have retirement accounts such as a 401k are corporations/ tax corporations more and the middle class recieves less from their retirement investments.
The poor ( like me) pay NO taxes to the federal government and typically little or none to the state (depends on which state) in my state if you are lower income you pay little for property taxes to as it is limited to 1.8% of your income. In order to allow poor people to not pay their full property tax bill, rich people have to pay more.
A lot of people have left the middle class like the libs say- the reality is that they left in an upward position not downward though. Facts get in the way of the lib argument.

I know, I know, they'll just increase taxes on businesses too. Pretty soon everybody will be poor except for the Democrats, and that's the way they want it.
