Vegas, the pit of scum on this planet we used to call home. We've re-enterred Roman philosophy. "Stop caring and everything will fix itself!" Anyone look in a mirror lately ? What do you see?

I'm kind of sad that "Vegas" has already dissappeared. It's not Sin City anymore. It's not even an adult amusement park. I never experienced what it used to be. Before the stupid lazer light show turned the old strip into a shopping mall. Before all the marble and bright lights and fakeness. Vegas used to be original on it's own. You didn't need to build a New York or a Paris or a Venice inside Vegas... Vegas used to be VEGAS. Or so I hear...

"What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas"

Really? What's that? You rent a car with your wife and two kids, get into a fight, storm out of the hotel room, lose $200 at the blackjack table, waste the rest of it at a 3rd class strip club, wake up drunk in a cab with no money? NOTHING happens in Vegas anymore. Nothing. Even the buffets suck. It's as tame as Disneyworld, plus homeless people... Try Reno. I hear there's still a little flare left.

I agree, Vegas is messed up. There's something about a town where you can't walk ten feet without being handed a picture of a naked prostitute by a 12 year old Mexican boy that's just incredibly unsettling.

The whole town is famous for it's replicas of cities that people actually care about. A lot of things are fake but it just takes it to a whole new level. The whole time I'm there I get the feeling I'm in a carnival trying to be a softcore porno movie at the same time. Softcore porn is the worst. Less overtly offensive but much more dishonest about its true nature.

Las Vegas is the embodiment of pretty much everything I hate. It's a place that attracts people who have no inner life, no doubt.

my boss just left for a 10 day vacation and 3 days of it are in Vegas. That means he would be back sooner so I hope it last a couple more days.

I would move -- they can be there if they choose. Greed is unpleasant to witness, but we have the choice to live in another way.

Fine by me; I'd never miss it. For bottom feeders with no sense.
