Ice cream can be expensive...you would think they are selling gold or something. I know an ice cream shop down the road that sells a small cup of hard ice cream with a small cup of coffee for 5 bucks. Outrageous!
I would rather go to McDonald's and for $1.09....cheap and good....get a vanilla cone! No pretension either.
What to you think?

I am totally hooked on McDonald's ice cream cones. I have one almost every day. The staff at my local McDonald's know what I want before I even ask for it. Love them!

Mc Donalds does not serve real hard ice cream. They have soft serve ice milk. That's why it's cheap. Cold stone cremery is some expensive ice cream. Hagan daz is also expensive but tasty. As with anything else you get what you pay for.
I do think $5 for ice cream is outragous. You can go to the grocery store and get their store brand to save money. Ralphs has a good store brand ice cream.

I like one that is rich but not made with a lot of fillers, flavor enhancers as they say. I do not like one that leaves an after taste from the gum guar or that is so loaded with fructose sweetners that you go on a sugar high with one bite. Have been making the treat for over 40 years and found it is a good combination of creams, sugars, eggs and flavor that makes a good ice cream. By the way, McDonalds is a poor excuse of a yogurt and had a very sour aftertaste.

I try to get something I like for a decent price. I really like Sonic's banana fudge sundae and it's inexpensive. I usually get the Breyers All Natural Checkerboard to eat at home. Right now I getting ready to have a Blue Bunny Heath ice cream bar as a treat. Yum!

I really like Mc D's ice cream and Dairy Queen too, both pretty cheap. Coldstone is good but four or five bucks for a dot of ice cream is so insane!

Ben and Jerrys uses top quality ingredieants, and if you notice pick up a pint of thier ice cream and a store brand, ben and jerrys is twice as heavy. Thats because they dont inject much air into thier product as its bing made. I used to work for a dairy and when they made thier ice cream they whipped in air as it was freeezing so that they didnt have to use as much icecream to fill the containers, Let a Ben and Jerrys melt, and a cheaper brand melt you will see the difference.

i usually buy cheap ice cream and once in a while buy the expensive one when it is on sale. I find that cheap ice cream pretty much taste the same or sometimes better than the expensive brands.

The best ice cream ever is Ben and Jerrys "wavy gravy." It's very rich so you only eat a small amount at a time. Do not try Haagen Dazs' "acai berry" it's horrible!

it all depends on the brand.......some cheap store brand kinds taste more like ice/water rather than the flacor that its sopposed to me.....my favorite brand is hersheys.....its priced just right......i bet one of the reasons why the shop down the road is expensive because it is convenient.......u dont have to scoop out ur own ice cream and u dont have to make ur own coffee.........its convenient and thats part of the reason why its high dollar
