Yes, you are covered by law because anything you purchase has to be suitable for the purpose it was bought and a bed should last more than 11 months. So ring Argos 1st. They are a decent company and hopefully they'll sort it with no problem. I had exactly the same problem with one of my mattresses, and when I got no joy from the company I rang Trading Standards. They sent me a draft letter with all the regulations and when I forwarded this to the company they gave me a new mattress straight away. They also told me that if I got no joy they would deal with the complaint for me, but that wasn't needed.
One thing to bear in mind is that if you want a replacement insist on that from the beginning. Once you accept a repair, even if you're not happy with it, you lose your right to a replacement and are only entitled to more repairs.
Good Luck. xx

Argos only give you a 16 day money back guarantee, however, under UK law your statutory rights for most goods are a 12 month guarantee which is issued by the manufacturers. You should contact the firm who made the mattress and explain this, they are legally obliged to either replace or repair it.

well... as a comparrison, and an example of customer winning
I once had a vauxhall Vectra, it was 4 years old at the time, and the gearbox smashed, causing the engine to break (in a nutshell)... I took it back to Vauxhall and demanded that they replace it free as a gearbox should not fail this drastic after just 4 years depite it being out of guarantee..
They agreed to pay all the cost of parts (Engine & Gearbox) and all i had to pay was £200 for Labour...
lol - i got a brand new engine and gearbox for £200...nice
So the morale of the story.... make a fuss and get things done
GO SEE THEM ABOUT IT!

All products from any shop unless stated have a guarantee. I would say that a bed should last longer than 11months. Just take it back and tell them to refund your money. If they refuse ask for the manager. If he then refuses phone the head office if no joy go to trading standards. I think you will get your money back if you phone the shop before hand and explain the problem.

The Uk law states that goods bought should be fit for the purpose of use they were intended for.Their is no set time laid down, also that faulty goods should be returned to the retailer who you bought from not the manufactuer.Argos is an excellent firm and you should approach them with the problem.
