Mg2+: 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s0

K+: 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6 4s0

Cl-: 1s2 2s2 2p6 3s2 3p6

Mg2+ is missing the two electrons in 3s. K+ is missing the electron in 4s. Cl- has an extra electron in 3p.
