If the sun didn't "rise" then that means the earth has quit rotating. Which could be a problem as you try to stand. With out the centrifugal force from the rotation..then the centripetal force of gravity would cause the surfaces to start collapsing towards the center of the earth.....so go back to sleep.

The few times that it happened to me, it was because the sun had not set the day before (therefore, it could not "rise").
There are many people who, during the long winter, do not see the sun for weeks. In Tuktoyaktuk (population over 900), they live with that for a few weeks at the end of December and early January. They get a few hours of twilight from about noon to 2 pm but the sun does not rise. They find that time of year boring, but they survive and go to work.
In the summer, it is the reverse: the sun does not set for a few weeks. They have to line the kids' bedroom windows with aluminium paper for the bedroom to be dark enough, otherwise the kids wont sleep.
Resolute (74.7 N 94.9W) gets the same treatment for a few months. When I was there (a long time ago) there was no live TV. We watched hockey games on tapes that were brought in by plane.
Luckily, I was not there for the long night...
(now, they have cable TV)

Wow,I would feel as if I were in a Stephen King movie. After getting over the shock of it I would go on about my daily activities and check the news.

Chances are, I wouldn't wake up at all. OR, I'd be sleeping in one of the polar regions of the earth.
That's what I came in here to say, but frankly, I like Rachel's answer a lot better!

Since I go to work before the sun comes up, I would not notice.. That is, unless the outside temperature was 800 below zero, (signifying that the sun had died) I would assume that there was a particularly heavy cloud cover when I was sitting at work waiting for the sun to come up and didn't see it

Well, I imagine I wouldn't wake up at all because it'd be so cold that my body would just shut down in my sleep. When it's too cold, you fall asleep and your body shuts down. You know, like when people are really cold in the movies, their friends always say something like, "Stay with me" or "Don't fall asleep" because they'd never wake up.

The earth would have stopped rotating and we would all be dead then or soon after.
The sun doesn't rise or set, the earth rotates.
