Is it to save space or money? Thanks!

It was pretty common in the 1960's to build multi-purpose stadiums. The Reds, Pirates and Phillies, for example, all shared buildings with NFL teams. The Mets shared Shea with the Jets for a while. The Senators and Redskins both used RFK.

The problem was that such an approach didn't really leave either franchise happy. The layout for a baseball team looks like a fan, while football likes a grid. It's tough to make it all work, even with some moveable seats.

Building each team a new stadium obviously works better for the teams, as they can make it sport-specific. However, it's an extra hundreds of millions of dollars for some cities.

If your not from the "Ghetto" stay away from the "Ghetto", cause you'll never understand the "Ghetto".

For lack of a better word,Oakland is "Ghetto" & proud of it.

Oakland simply put, does not have the space or the funds like our neighbors in San Francisco to build a Baseball only stadium. We may not have our own Baseball only stadium but what we do have is diverse culture and a great sport history.
Stick to what u know ynkee mick or what ever your weak a$$ name is The city of Oakland welcomed Mr. Davis & The Raiders back & never regreted it. I have lived in East Oakland all my life(27yrs) and proud of it. So to bash on me is tired & weak. Stick to what u know, Red Sox bashing! I'm proud and love my "Ghetto". Oak Town Baby! Bay Area all day!
