its my first time growing gourds and i have had them drying for almost 4 weeks and all the stems have broken off will this affect the price or the gourd itself

The main thing is the gourd itself, it should be free of cracks and major defects. If the gourd itself is damaged the price drops quickly.

They should be fine, most artisans remove the stem anyways.

Also it depends on what type of gourd your drying. A gourd like a birdhouse gourd, should have a stem on it when its dried. If it's missing the stem the price drops a little, but not enough to even be concerned about.

No the stems are suppose to break off as they dry. So is nothing to worry about. Checking out the stems is how you know when to pick them, just like a watermelon. The older the plant the drier the stem gets until it falls off. It is normal for drying gourds.

No you can actually remove them, but be sure to let air circulate between them and rotate them. letting them sit in one position for too long will cause brusing. Place them off the ground perhaps on a pallet.
