You'll need a TV tuner, either an internal card that you install inside the computer, or an external one that connects through a USB port.

They both work, although the internal one is a bit faster. But as far as picture quality, etc., there's not much of a difference. So both work well.

Now there are many different ones on the market, but I've always used Win-TV. And I don't go for the ones with the PVR (Personal Video Recorder) feature. All that really does is allow you to set a timer to record programs, similar to what you do with a VCR. But since I don't keep my computer on all the time, I don't need it.

When I need to record something, I turn on the computer and press record when the program starts, and then stop when it's over. So you may save some money if you get a tuner without the PVR, but that's a personal choice. And I've used both internal and USB tuners, and have gotten equal quality recordings, so they both work very well.

Look into WinTv - It's something you can put into your computer to recieve TV channels. Those net channel sites tend to only have snippets of the latest episode anyway, not the full thing (Poo, I know).
