What cheep food can I give to my crickets that I'm trying to breed. I need something nutritious for the cricket AND the frogs and anoles who are going to eat them, but I need it to be cheep. Is cat food an option?

No answers from inexperienced ones. I'd like some one who's breed crickets before, to answer this. Thanks!

Try chicken starter mash, available at any feed store.
Vegetables, such as potatoes or carrots, should also be offered.

I've kept many crickets before and i buy cricket food from Flukar its a company that does cricket food. I've tried breeding them and it is No easy task, getting baby crickets to grow to full adults is only for professionals one of which i am not. Takes lots of patience and care.

If you don't to use Flukar food you can use Oranges and Carrots both of which provide water and food.

Look at certain brands of cereals with lots of oats, nuts, etc. Crush them up before putting them in. Most breeders I know put lots of carrots and cut up potatos in there (can stay in there for 2 days; then remove what's left) Putting things like lettuce and fruits in there will only spoil quickly. Seriously, gutload foods and/or cereal and potatos and carrots. It's what I did for my beardie's crickets. They were nice FAT crickets. -nod nod nod- ^.^

I make my own gutload. Cat food is not an option--it is not balanced. Here is the link to the recipe:
