Scientists don't "believe". They look at evidence and make up their own minds.
I agree with modern thinking on the subject, that probably, based on fossil evidence rather than DNA, humans appeared in Africa.
It's quite possible for small changes in genetic make-up to appear in different places, but not very likely that big ones would.
Butterflies and ants are dozens of different species, so yes each butterfly and ant species came from an ancestral butterfly and ant somewhere.

The Mitochondrial Eve study would have us believe that the origin of the human race was in Ethiopia. Fossils for early australopithecus creatures were found throughout the world. It is important to recreate the change of land masses from 5 million years ago when the human race branched off from the rest of the chimps and other primates. It is possible that all the australopithecus species and homo habilis, and erectus, despite all of their toolmaking abilities failed to survive certain ice ages. Only the most tropical or warmest places would allow habitation. the Ethiopia region may have been such a place. Chances are close relatives to the humans had been spread, but they migrated to Ethiopia and finished evolving into humans there

I can not agree with the theory because: it is said at first the earth was a single unit known as pangaea. At this time it is the time that species started to appear in the earth according to physiological and chemical laws. With time pangaea started to separate into different continents with time the continents were far away from one another to the extent that organisms could not reach one another. The human species at that time had evolved and some of human species were in America, Asi, Australia and Africa. As continents continued to separate then human species developed according to difference in environment. Why in America when the first nevigators arrived they found people who were living. And if the theory was to be true where did the redindians came from first ancestor were from Africa? How did they cross the Antlantic ocean?

You can believe anything you like in the bible but this is not evidence.
The evidence for human origins is pretty strong by examining mitochondrial DNA in the female line.
Butterflies and ants have many similarities. It is clear they evolved from the same source and are in the insect family.

I "have studied the evidence and am relatively convinced" (as opposed to "believe") that all humans originated in east Africa about 3-4 million years ago.

There is a lot of evidence that supports that claim, both from DNA and the fossil record.
